Monday through Thursday participants spend the morning in class from 9:00–11:30am learning the central program topics. On Fridays, participants meet in groups of four or five to work on research topics.
After lunch participants work on the daily problem sets and continue until 3:30pm in the afternoon. During that time the teaching assistants meet individually with participants in 20 to 60 minute sessions to go over the problem set from the previous day.
The late afternoon is dedicated to recreational and social activities, and twice a week this time is used for an afternoon guest lecture.
Each weekend there is one field trip day and one day on which participants partake in extra activities on the Stanford campus.
